How to Make Cold-Brewed Iced Coffee

Following up on our recipe for cold-brewed iced tea, here’s a great recipe for cold-brewed iced coffee. The advantage of cold-brewing iced coffee is that it will have a much better, smoother taste than iced coffee that is brewed hot and then cooled.
The ratio is 4 parts cold water to 1 part coffee. For example, 2 cups of water to 1/2 cup of coffee. The coffee should be a coarse grind.
Mix the ground coffee and water and put them in the refrigerator overnight for 12 hours. Then strain it through a metal strainer. To avoid drinking the smallest grounds, let it sit so they fall to the bottom of the jar, or strain the coffee a second time through a few layers of cheesecloth:
Serve over ice and enjoy.
